Patriotism has been propagated as a noble spirit. It is indeed desirable for the society of a patritic individual in face of a foreign offence. However, patriotism emerges from ego, so that, in the face of a conflict, the patriotic person will stand on the side he feels closer to. Ultimately, in case she or he be the suprime at the power, she or he will become a tyrant.
